This year has flown by! I admit I don't keep up with my blog as often as I like. SO...here's a cheery hello and a tiny taste of a few weddings and events we've created so far! I enjoy working with so many sweet couples and incredible vendors the whole year through.... This fall is going to be super busy, so tune in for loads of pretty on Instagram! :)
2017 has been an INCREDIBLE year! And it's all thanks to my amazing clients! I want to thank each of you for allowing me to take part in your day. It really means a lot to have your trust!
A lot of new things are on the horizon for my little company. As many of you know, I moved back to our family farm in July. I began raising some of my own dahlias. We've decided to increase the production from the patch in the back yard, to a bigger patch in the back 40! Stay tuned for a pretty Instagram feed starting in July from in The Blossom Patch!
I've put together a little review of the year. Thank you to all the amazing photographers who have graciously sent over images! Oh my goodness! It's been a while since I've made a blog post! That's because we've been head first into so many weddings this year. It's October and we're busier than ever. If you're interested in booking for 2018, I highly recommend contacting me over the next several months.
I'll leave you with a little snippet of a sweet wedding we designed in August at The Polo Barn at Saxony Farm. GORGEOUS!
Thank you to Willie Wilson Photography for the incredible images.
"Go west, woman. Go west." Those are the words my grandfather spoke to me years ago. They have resonated with me on so many levels. From moving forward with a career, to actually going west.
My opportunity to travel back to California came this past November. I spent a week freelancing with Laurie Garza of Fleurie Flower Studio in Reedley, CA. She's my BFF (Best Flower Friend). And right this second, I miss her like crazy! My good friend Monica Gasperson of Twigs Floral Design, drove into Reedley to help Laurie as well.
Laurie was hired to design a large wedding and needed hands. This was the perfect opportunity to sling flowers with her. We've talked about it for ages, and finally made it happen. For days, we processed and designed with a lot of gorgeous flowers! The wedding was held at Annadale Equine Center (Horses! I felt at home!). Laurie's expertise and precision resulted in a beautiful wedding! She did an amazing job! So blessed to have had the opportunity to work for this special lady!
Laurie, Monica and I did a lot of giggling, a lot of gossiping and had some fun of our own. We visited local dahlia farms to pick up some of the pretties for this wedding. If you're addicted to dahlias like I am, it was like Disneyland! WOW! I was the typical tourist..snapping hundreds of pictures, enjoying the local scenes and savoring every second. The trip wouldn't be complete without a day spent in the Sequoia National Forest. I will NEVER forget that day. If you get the opportunity...go. Go experience those trees, the mountains, the wildlife... you won't regret it!
Thank you, Laurie, for the opportunity to share a bench with you. A special thank you to your husband and family (fur babies too) for welcoming me into your home. I can't tell you how blessed I feel to have been your guest. I miss y'all!
Enjoy the overload of photos, silly selfies and a bounty of pretty that Laurie brought to the table....
The last 12 months have been a whirlwind! Flowers have been designed with care and placed in the hands of over 40 beautiful brides and couples, and events. I wanted to take a moment to thank each of you for supporting small business, supporting a dream and cultivating new ideas. It's been a beautiful year! I have loved seeing faces of happy clients when handing off their flowers...does my heart good.
Looking forward to 2017, I couldn't be more excited! I've worked hard over the last few months to procure relationships with new growers, suppliers and industry pros. All of that, paired with AWESOME clients in 2017, will make for a beautiful bloom filled year. This past year I was excited to freelance design in Cincinnati with two of my flower gal pals, and with my BFF (Best Flower Friend) near Fresno, CA. I'll post more on that very soon! I look forward to more opportunities to travel and design in 2017!
I'm so thankful for each of you. From a small event/weddings to something super grand...I'm eternally grateful for your trust and opportunity to flower for you! Thank you to my family who have sacrificed too. Wedding season can make home and juggling a family challenging at times. They have hung in there with me the whole way. Thank you!
Cheers to a bright, bold and beautiful 2017!
When I think of a Southern wedding, I envision a historic home, with big columns, a beautiful bride in a ballgown, a charming groom & a celebration fit for any Southern belle.
Well, that's exactly the wedding Miranda envisioned, and exactly the wedding that was delivered. A total downpour couldn't keep this sweet couple from saying their vows on the steps of Maplewood Estates in Millersburg, KY. STUNNING historic mansion, both inside and out!
Miranda carried a textural bouquet of garden roses, mix of foliage, larkspur and blue thistle. Her centerpieces included a gorgeous footed gold compote, filled with hydrangea, thistle, larkspur and a mix of foliage. Lovely!
Congratulations Miranda & Logan!

Rain and gloomy skies couldn't keep this sweet couple from beaming! Rachael & Josh wed on a rainy day at Equus Run Vineyard near Georgetown. Check out the custom arch we built for them! We have a similar arch available as a rental for our brides.
Oh, and peach and blue is one of my favorite color combinations. Swoon!
Shining Light Photography managed to grab beautiful photos between the rainstorms that day. Check out Shining Light Photography at http://www.shininglight516.com/ .
A beautiful fall day at Talon Winery proved to be just that....BOLD and BEAUTIFUL! Kristina wanted color...bold colors of fall. And we delivered. The arbor and aisle were decorated with fall foliage, blooms and accents. The reception featured a stately coach lantern and accents of flowers and mini pumpkins on half the tables. The other half featured classy compote style centerpieces with mini pumpkins, fragrant eggplant roses & ruffly orange roses. Enjoy this fairy tale!

Introducing Stephanie & Chris...
What a beautiful wedding at the Carrick House in Lexington, KY! Shades of peach, coral and navy displayed this couple's loving and playful nature. Stephanie chose to use low centerpieces on her guest tables in two garden compote styles. The head table was positioned in the center of the room and given the "BAM!!!" treatment with a navy sparkle runner and dramatic centerpieces. We loved working with this awesome couple, in this beautiful venue...horse drawn carriage and all!

Enter my bride Katie. She was a vision in her gown! Wowzers! Her wedding was so unique with shades of cream, white and grey.... all of her bridesmaids gowns were different. It worked! Her groom, Grayson, and his guys...all dapper in black! Wearing creamy white spray roses and the uber cool silver brunia berry.
Let's talk about the flower girl basket... it went missing. SO, I scrambled at the church to find a basket of some sort. I managed to find a small basket near the coffee maker...but it didn't have a handle. Thankfully, I had my tool bag and bark covered wire with me. Flower girl basket saved 1 hour before the wedding!
